Bedtime stories, slow and quiet, with a voice that winds down.
Soft pictures, a calm narrator and nothing sudden. Clippie writes a gentle story, or takes your own, and draws it in storybook or 3D scenes that hold long enough to get sleepy.

Calm from start to finish. Three steps.
- 1
Write something uneventful
A bedtime story should wind down. Use a small problem that resolves early, then a long, soft ending. Type the idea or paste your own.
- 2
Soften the voice
Use the Soft or Calm voice style with a gentle narrator, then listen to it through. Regenerate any line that sounds too bright.
- 3
Keep the pictures still
Use Normal pacing, which holds each scene for 5 to 8 seconds. Skip the overlays and transitions, and pick quiet music or none at all.
What makes a good bedtime video. It is the opposite of a Short.
Do the opposite of what feeds reward
Short-form habits work against sleep. For bedtime, aim for:
- No cliffhangers: End with everyone safe, warm and going to sleep.
- Long gentle sentences: Repeated phrases are soothing, and small children like them.
- Dim colours: Use soft palettes. Avoid looks with sudden contrast and shadows.
- Low screen time: Many parents use sound with the screen dimmed or turned away. Write stories that work with eyes closed.
For your family, or for a channel
For your own child, you can write in their favourite animal and the things that happened today, and keep the video private. For a public channel, use made-up names, set the audience correctly on YouTube and read our guide to kids story channels. Keep real children’s names and details off public videos.
Reading it in your own voice
If you are away from home, or want a story read in a familiar voice, you can use a custom voice imported from ElevenLabs on your plan. Only use a voice with the person’s permission.

Frequently asked questions.
How long should a bedtime story video be?
Three to ten minutes is a reasonable range. Longer ones are possible by pasting your own script, and each one uses your plan’s export minutes for its length.
Can I put my child’s name in the story?
Yes, for a video you keep to yourself. Keep real children’s names and details out of anything you publish.
Is screen time before bed a good idea?
That is your call as a parent, and paediatric advice generally favours less screen time before sleep. A narrated story also works as audio, with the screen dimmed or off.
Can I publish them on YouTube?
Yes, and they would usually be made for kids, which limits comments and personalized ads. Read YouTube’s rules and review every scene yourself first.
What does a video use from my plan?
Drawing the scene pictures and editing are included. The voiceover uses voice minutes and the finished export uses export minutes. Animating scenes is optional and uses AI credits, and the price shows before you start.
