How to make faceless videos with AI.

What a faceless video is, which format to start with, and how each one is made in Clippie.

What counts as a faceless video

A faceless video is one where you never appear on camera and usually never speak. The voice is generated, the visuals are generated images, gameplay or stock-style footage, and captions carry the words. The format took over short-form video because it removes the two things that stop most people from posting: filming themselves and editing.

The channels that grow with it are built on a repeatable format rather than a personality: a Reddit story every day, a would you rather a day, a stickman explainer a week. Clippie has an editor for each of those formats, so the work is choosing the idea, not assembling the video.

The formats, and who each one suits

Start with the one closest to what you already watch. Each link opens a page with samples and a guide.

  • AI story videos: Any script, narrated, with an AI image or animated scene for every sentence. 43 looks from stickman and creepy cartoon to cinematic and Ghibli-style. The most flexible format and the one most Clippie creators use.
  • Reddit story videos: Paste a Reddit post or your own story. The post card appears, a narrator reads it and captions follow over Minecraft, Subway Surfers or GTA gameplay.
  • Fake text story videos: A conversation that plays out message by message in iMessage, WhatsApp, Instagram or Tinder styling, with a voice for each side.
  • Would you rather videos: Two options, a countdown, then the percentages. The AI writes the questions and draws a picture for each option, and the editor opens without an account.
  • Roblox rant videos: An opinion read by an AI voice over Roblox gameplay from a library of 171 clips, with bold captions.
  • Split screen videos: A podcast clip, stream moment or commentary on top, gameplay below, auto captions between them.
  • Stickman videos: The stick-figure explainer and survival format, drawn and animated by AI, in Shorts and long 16:9 versions.
  • Top 5 and ranking videos: Countdowns from your own clips with a ranked list on screen, a voiceover and a bass hit between entries.
  • Long-form YouTube videos: Ten-minute 16:9 scripts with a scene for every line, for history, true crime, finance and documentary channels.

Getting the script right

Every format starts with words. In the AI story and rant editors the script writer takes an idea, a length from 30 seconds to 10 minutes, a theme and a tone, and returns a draft you can edit line by line. The would you rather editor writes questions from a prompt. The Reddit editor takes a pasted post. If you already have a script, paste it; nothing is rewritten unless you ask.

The first two seconds decide whether the video is watched. Open with the conflict, the question or the claim, not the setup. Short-form scripts run about 2.5 words a second, so a 45-second video is roughly 110 words.

Choosing a voice

Clippie ships 125 picked voices, and the voice picker searches the ElevenLabs voice library live, so there is a voice for a horror narrator, a Reddit storyteller, a kids cartoon and a finance explainer. Speed and pitch are adjustable, and any single line can be regenerated without redoing the rest. Prefer your own voice? Upload a recording and the editor transcribes it for captions.

Visuals: generated scenes or gameplay

Story formats generate a picture for every sentence in the look you pick, and can animate each scene. Gameplay formats use the background library: 417 clips across Roblox, Minecraft, Subway Surfers, GTA, Fortnite, Temple Run, Mario Kart and cooking, in 9:16 and 16:9. Paid plans can upload their own footage. Gameplay should be visually busy and emotionally neutral, so the voice carries the story and the eye has something to follow.

Captions that keep people watching

Most short-form video is watched without sound at first, so captions are not optional. The editors generate word-timed captions in 104 languages, with 17 styles that highlight the word being spoken. Keep them in the middle third of the frame, away from the platform UI at the bottom, and keep each caption to a few words.

Exporting and publishing

Exports are 1080x1920 at 30 fps, or 1920x1080 for 16:9 videos, with no watermark on the format editors. Post the same format on TikTok, Reels and Shorts rather than tailoring each; the differences in what performs are smaller than the cost of making three versions. Faceless channels grow on consistency: one format, one posting time, the same look, for at least thirty videos before judging it.

Every format, one place.

What every format comes with.

  • AI script writer

An idea becomes a script of 30 seconds to 10 minutes in a chosen theme and tone. Edit any line; nothing is locked.

  • Voices people believe

125 picked voices, plus a live search of the ElevenLabs voice library. Set speed and pitch, and regenerate any line.

  • Captions in 104 languages

17 caption styles with word-by-word highlighting, 126 fonts, colour, stroke and shadow, placed anywhere on the frame.

  • 417 gameplay clips

Roblox, Minecraft, Subway Surfers, GTA, Fortnite, Temple Run, Mario Kart, cooking and more, in 9:16 and 16:9. Paid plans can upload their own.

Frequently asked questions.

What is the best AI faceless video generator?

The one that has an editor for the format you want to post. Clippie has twelve: AI story videos in 43 looks, Reddit stories, fake texts, would you rather, Roblox rants, split screen, stickman, Top 5 countdowns, Twitter threads, voiceover videos, auto captions and long-form 16:9 videos, all with the same AI voices, captions and gameplay library.

Can I make faceless videos for free?

The editors open without an account and show a live preview, so you can build a video before paying. Generating voiceovers and exporting need a Clippie plan, which includes minutes of video every month. The browser tools (background remover, compressor, green screen) are free with no signup.

Are faceless videos monetizable on YouTube and TikTok?

Yes, when they are your own work. Clippie videos use generated images, AI voices and captions rather than clips from other channels. YouTube asks for an original take on reused formats, so write your own script or start from an idea rather than reading another creator’s post.

Do I need to write the script?

No. Type an idea and the AI script writer drafts it at the length, theme and tone you pick. You can also paste a script, a Reddit post or an existing voiceover recording.

Which format should I start with?

AI story videos if you want range: one editor covers horror, history, motivation, finance and kids content with a different look each. Reddit, fake texts and would you rather if you want a format with a built-in audience. Split screen if you already have clips of someone talking.

How long does a video take to make?

A would you rather, Reddit or rant video is a few minutes from idea to export. An AI story with animated scenes takes longer because every scene is generated, usually under fifteen minutes for a one-minute video.

What languages are supported?

Scripts can be in any language the voice speaks, and captions are generated in 104 languages, with auto-detect.
